Nepal, the Himalayan country, is home to 8 of the world's 14 highest mountains. It has around 90 peaks above 7,000 meters and more than 1,300 peaks above 6,000 meters. The country's landscape ranges from just 60 meters above sea level to the top of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest at 8,848.86 meters. This incredible diversity offers hundreds of multi-day trekking routes, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery, explore rich cultures, and create unforgettable lifetime experiences in the Himalayas.
The terrain of Nepal is categorized into three primary geographical sectors extending from the southern plains to the northern heights: the Siwalik Hills, the Mahabharat Range, and the majestic Greater Himalayan Range. This distinct topography provides an extensive array of trekking and adventure pursuits suitable for every traveler. Journeys vary in difficulty from gentle walks to strenuous expeditions, shaped by the total distance, elevation gain, and ruggedness of the path. Within this guide, the focus remains on accessible and cost-effective trekking options, designed specifically for novice adventurers seeking to witness the awe-inspiring splendor of the Himalayan peaks.
