  • New daylights start the day, and you devour your breakfast early in the morning
  • Then we start an exciting long drive of 7 – 8 hours to Besisahar from Kathmandu
  • On the way, we will admire the captivating views of countryside scenery, mid-hill geography, high streams, and Himalayan Rivers
  • The high torrent flowing river offers you a prospect of rafting which can be an excellent extension to your trekking

  • We keep walking the west bank of the river and cross the bridge before climbing through terraced fields to reach Khudi
  • The trail up the Marsyangdi valley offers enchanting views of snow-clad mountains.-Manaslu (8,156m), Himalchuli (7,893m), and Boudha Himal (6,672m)
  • A steady hike from here takes us to Bahundanda – a brahmin village
  • Cross the suspension bridge before climbing high above the river along the steep hillsides of rhododendron and pine forests to Jagat

  • Cross the small wooden bridge and rise along the ancient old Mani wall to reach the small village of Yak Kharka

  • We walk for a while to cross the suspension bridge
  • After the suspension bridge, we reach Ledar village, and from here, we ascend furthermore through daunting cliffs to reach ThorongPhedi village
  • On the way, the trail rewards us with impressive views of Mt. Gudang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak, and Mt. Khatungkan
  • The word Phedi in Nepalese dialect refers to the foot of a mountain

  • Today is the day that we have been desperately waiting for. We start very early, at around 4 AM, to avoid mid-morning clouds and strong afternoon winds.
  • We need to ascend 1,000m and drop down 1,600m to Muktinath valley
  • Thorong La Pass at 5,416m is a col between Thorung Peak (6,211m/20,378ft) and astounding Yakwakang (6,482m/15,434ft)
  • The flag beautified summit of Pass offers an incredible snowy view to the east behind
  • To the west is dramatic arid brown scenery formed by the rain-parched nature of Kali Gandaki valley
  • On the opposite side of the valley are the immense Dhaulagiri and the mountains of Dolpo dominating the skyline
  • From Yak Kharka, we climb steeply with the promise of delightful views on every rise in altitude
  • At one point, we need to climb the side of ancient moraine beyond which the route rises gradually
  • After short rest and photos, we drop down to Muktinath
  • We need to be careful as we drop down over loose gravel that needs optimal care at the initial part
  • Later the downward trail becomes rocker and easier to tackle
  • The significant Buddhist and Hindu temple, Muktinath, will be reached by the later afternoon
